Prof. Francesco Contò is Full Professor in Agricultural Economics and Food Innovation and he was Director of the Department of Economics, University of Foggia (Italy). Currently he teaches “Internationalization and competitiveness in the agri-food system” and ‘Economics for the local development and management of EU Funds”. His main research interests are Rural development and multifunctionality Computer Science, Information and Communication Technologies in Agriculture, Food and Environment, Innovation in the agri-food sector, Food Innovation, Models of technology transfer and the CAP 2014-2020. Since 1977 he has held various scientific and professional positions inside and outside the Academia and he has been responsible for many scientific projects research at national and international level. He is author of over 190 publications. He has held several teaching positions and as a researcher at international, highly qualified universities and research institutions. He is coordinator of the Interdepartmental Ph.D. course in ‘Health Food Innovation and Management’ and coordinator of the Ph.D. course in ‘Economics and Environmental Law, Land and Landscape’. He is coordinator of the Ph.D School in ‘Environment and Landscape Cultures’ at the University of Foggia. He is an ordinary member of several research Societies in the Agricultural Economics field and he is member of several Conference Scientific Committees and Editorial Boards. He has been invited as lecturer at about 130 scientific and academic conferences, seminars, and workshops. Prof. Contò is the Scientific Coordinator of various H2020, Erasmus, and PRIN projects.
